Proceedings of the conference "Ninfa, storia arte e immagine, ambiente," held in the Palazzo Caetani, Rome, the Castello Caetani, Sermoneta, and the garden of Ninfa: 31 contributions on the ruined Medieval town of Ninfa (destroyed 1382, preserved by the Caetani family and now a garden) and related topics. Authors include: Bruno Toscano on the topography of 15th c. art in southern Lazio; Tommaso Scalesse on the 15th-16th c. architecture of the towns held by the Caetani family in the region; Giovanni Carbonara on the Medieval architecture and urban development of Ninfa, with a chronology, 750-1971; Lydie Hadermann-Misguich on the mural painting, 12th-14th cs.; M. Letizia de Sanctis on monastic settlements in the area, 12th-13th cs.; Paul Philippot on the conservation of the frescoes; Giorgio Torraca on the deterioration and conservation of the ruins; Giovanni Urbani and Enzo Borsellino, proposals for museums at Ninfa and Sermoneta; Alessandro Onorati on the paintings of Lelia Caetani Howard (1913-1977), last of the Caetani family. Also includes several articles on Ninfa as a 20th c. garden, with a new map.
