Discusses three late 16th c. Florentine choir books, with illuminated initials, remaining from a group of 12 acquired by the convent in 1701. The initials of "n[ 1," a gradual, are attributed to an unknown illuminator, perhaps from the convent of S. Marco in Florence, working in the style of Zanobi Strozzi and Filippo di Matteo Torelli but about a century later. The initials of the other two (designated "2" and "5"), both antiphonaries, are based on Mannerist models and show more than one hand. Includes full catalogue entries.
