Study of the abandoned 17th-18th c. garden of Aberglasney; focuses on the three-sided terrace walk with a portico beneath, and indicates sources in Roman cryptoportici; suggests that the design of the garden, combining a typical 17th c. tripartite structure with the Italianate cryptoportical walks, may be due to members of the Rudd family rather than to the poet and painter John Dyer, who lived at Aberglasney in the 18th c.
