In connection with the acquisition by the J. Paul Getty Museum in Malibu of four statues from Wentworth Woodhouse (Venus, Minerva, and Juno by Nollekens and a heavily restored antique statue of Paris) that, according to the author's interpretation and documentary evidence, formerly comprised a Judgment of Paris, traces the origins of the collection of Lord Rockingham to his travels in Italy on the Grand Tour, reconstructs the collection at the time of his death, and studies the group of the Judgment of Paris.
