Abstract (en)

Reviews an exhibition of medieval textiles from the Treasury (Schatkamer) of S. Servaas, Maastricht, held at the Abegg-Stiftung, Riggisberg, 5 May-1 Nov, 1991. The exhibition was in two parts: textiles from the shrine of S. Servatius, including the cloth used to wrap the saint's bones, made for the shrine, ca.1200; and textiles, 5th-15th cs., ranging from western Europe to China. Notes that the Abegg-Stiftung conserved the textiles and provided support for the exhibition and catalogue.
