The Waddesdon Bequest catalogue treats 61 objects of silver- and goldsmithing, primarily 16th-17th cs., from the collection of Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild. The objects are defined by the goldsmithing not being combined with other materials, e.g., quartz, nautilus, and other seashell. Also treats 19th c. works hitherto taken as Renaissance and Baroque pieces, and pieces with 19th c. alterations. The catalogue of the Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert collection of goldsmithing, partly on long-term loan to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, comprises 175 objects, 16th-18th cs., principally by artisans from Great Britain and German-speaking countries.
