Abstract (en)

On the exhibition held 6 Oct 1990-15 Jan 1991 at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Bartel finds the approach conventional and limited; Quizon finds that the exhibition depends on texts and explanations to make itself understood, and then it doesn't succeed; and Williams finds that the claim that high art influences the low is not justified either in the show or in the catalogue.
