Examines the typology and function of town halls in Śląsk (formerly Silesia), 14th-15th cs. Notes that they are generally characterized by three traits: dominance within the town square plan, a longitudinal two-story layout, and a tower placed asymmetrically on one of the short sides. Focuses on the town hall in Breslau (Wrocław). Includes a table listing 23 Silesian towns with dates relating to their civic history and the construction and alteration of their town halls.
