Abstract (en)

Interpretive analysis of Francesc Torres's three-part installation, Fifty Rains, a work which addresses issues related to Spanish national identity. The work, which deals with three moments in the history of 20th c. Spain (1943, 1973, 1993), was created as part of Torres's full-scale retrospective at the Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid (4 Feb-7 Apr 1991), curated by John Hanhardt.
