Abstract (en)

Review of the traveling exhibition, Passages de l'image (Passages of the image), organized by Christine Van Assche, Catherine David, and Raymond Bellour for the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris (18 Sept 1990-13 Jan 1991). The exhibition presents some 14 photo, video, and film installations by an international group of contemporary artists, and explores the intermixing of different pictorial models and fine art traditions using those three camera mediums. Includes installations of still photographs by Bill Henson, Geneviève Cadieux, and Suzanne Lafont; video installations by Bill Viola and Gary Hill; mixed media works by Jeff Wall, Dennis Adams, and John Massey.
