Semiotic analysis of the auto-da-fé 15th-17th cs., the ceremony at which the Inquisition judged and punished prisoners for violations against the Catholic faith. This ceremony is placed within the context of medieval penitential practices and eschatological beliefs. States that the auto-da-fé unveiled in time the judgment day awaiting all humankind at the end of time.
