Abstract (en)

Draws attention to the current popularity of academic cultural theory and to the failure of academic theorists to subject their own profession to cultural analysis. Argues that while we need a good study of feminist intellectuals and cultural theorists and the university, we do not need inquiries into academic professionalization that fail to gauge its effect on the tone and substance of contemporary cultural criticism.
