Abstract (en)

Examines problems regarding the representation of art and particularly architecture in photography, from the point of view of the art historian and for the purposes of art history, using the author's photographs as examples. Concludes that despite 150 years of association with it, art historians do not understand photography or exploit its potential for their discipline.
