Reviews several 1991 exhibitions devoted to Otto Dix (Galerie der Stadt Stuttgart; Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin; Städtische Galerie Albstadt; Kunstgalerie, Gera; Albertinum, Dresden), as well as a symposium (Städtische Galerie Albstadt) and monographs by Ulrike Rüdiger, Hans Ulrich Lehmann, Suse Pfäffle, and Lutz Tittel. Appendix reproduces two letters: one from Dix to Franz Lenk (1937) and one from the director of the Geraer Kunstverein to Dix (1944).
