Introduction by Caviness followed by summaries of 24 papers presented at the conference held at the Hauptgebäude der Universität Bern, Aug 26-31, 1991, on the theme of the organization and practices of stained glass workshops, 13th-16th cs. Papers reported on technical aspects of production, stylistic analysis and workshop attribution, patronage, and iconography. A supplementary session addressed the issue of 19th c. workshops.
