Abstract (en)
Discusses two drawings made by West in 1765 as illustrations for William Smith's An historical account of the expedition against the Ohio indians, in the year MDCCLXIV, under the command of Henry Bouquet (New Haven, Yale Center for British Art). Prown describes the drawings as "small but potent landmarks in the development and realization by West of the moral modern history picture".
