Abstract (en)
Internal and external evidence points to Archbishop Dunstan as the original owner of the pontifical, who gave specific instructions for the production of the manuscript in the scriptorium of Christ Church, Canterbury, either in 973 or the following decade. Argues that it was sent to Sherborne Abbey after his death (Paris, Bibliothèque nationale, MS lat. 943).
