Traces the history of the palace (ca.1826-1837) built by Antonio Sarti for count Antonio Lozzano on via del Corso, Rome, as an example of 19th c. building practices: the replacement of two- and three-story houses (in this case the home of canon and architect Virgilio Fontana, who contested the takeover) with larger buildings. In 1862-1865, the palace was altered, again by Sarti, to create the "Albergo di Roma", now the Hotel Plaza.
