Studies the lithographs of the Polish artist, active in Russia, beginning in 1816, in the context of the early development of lithography in Russia. Notes that the first Russian lithographic workshops were connected to the government, rather than used for private artistic purposes. Discusses also the importation of Orlowski's prints into England, and the production of numerous English copies after his lithographs.
