Examines the iconography of John Hus and of Luther on medals, primarily German, from the 1530s through 1717, the bicentennial of the Reformation. Points out that the vast majority of these medals were made in the 17th and early 18th cs., and asserts that the association of Hus with Luther was part of "a Lutheran effort to fashion an image of sainthood about the figure of its founder".
