Abstract (en)

On the American watercolorist and printmaker, the first Western woman and perhaps the first American artist to learn the Japanese color wood block process. Influenced by Japonisme while studying in Paris, she traveled to Japan in 1899 and worked there, with few returns to the United States, until 1914.
