Describes results of archaeological excavations at the site of Bersham Ironworks, near Wrexham, Clwyd. The works date ca.1717-1812. Surviving buildings are described, together with other structures revealed by excavation including a waggon way, coking facilities, blast furnace, air furnaces and foundry remains. Finally, paper attempts to draw the results of the excavations and documentary evidence together to show how the works expanded in the latter decades of the 18th c.
