Abstract (en)

History of the Historic Pence Springs Resort Hotel (Pence Springs, WV), built in 1897 as a resort but never opened, used for a vocational school for girls and then as the West Virginia State Prison for Women, recently placed on the National Register of Historic Places and restored to its original function.
