Set of chairs at Palace House, Beaulieu, which may be the earliest Gothic Revival chairs in existence, and also the earliest Windsor-type chairs with a firm provenance. They were made before 1749 (the splats are painted with the arms of the 2d Duke of Montagu who died in 1749), possibly in the 1730s.
