Study of the versions of David Contemplating the Head of Goliath, 1605-ca.1639: one from a private collection recently on loan to the National Gallery, London; an earlier version identified as the one in the Louvre, Paris; and a third, begun by Francesco Gessi and retouched by Reni, once in the collection of the House of Liechtenstein and now in a Viennese private collection. Introduces a fourth, late version in a private collection in Milan.
