Abstract (en)

Describes August II's collection of ungilded ("white") silver and its display in the Grünes Gewölbe, Dresden. Cites inventories of 1733, 1737, and 1752. Explains how the silver was sent to Holland as security for loans during the Seven Years' War and eventually melted down in 1772. Discusses briefly the reconstructed silver rooms in the Grünes Gewölbe and their installation.
