Interpretive discussion of Tadashi Kawamata's temporary site-specific installation, Roosevelt Island Project, constructed around an abandoned smallpox hospital on New York City's Roosevelt Island (15 Sept-1 Nov 1992). Considers some of Kawamata's earlier temporary installations in relation to the new work.
