Abstract (en)

Art libraries are well placed to operate international exchanges of publications, especially when they serve institutions such as museums, which publish art documentation. It is nevertheless necessary to be aware of hidden costs and to examine reasons for and the cost-effectiveness of exchange programs. Guidelines for efficient and effective exchange are suggested.
