Traces the presence, in 18th c. Italian libraries, of 13 non-Italian treatises (in French, German and Latin) on architecture, ca.1690-1750. Concludes that they were collected only after ca.1750, when they no longer were useful for application in architecture. This would confirm the impression that early 18th c. Italian architecture was uninfluenced by developments in European architecture of the same period.
