Discusses a series of watercolors made in connection with W.H. Pyne's 1819 History of the royal residences (Windsor, Royal Library). These interior views provide evidence for architecture and decoration ca.1760-1819, recording the appearance of the rooms just a year or two before Nash's remodelling. The watercolors are all by James Stephanoff with the exception of single contributions by Richard Cattermole and Charles Wild.
