Abstract (en)

A recently discovered group of American and English silver, together with the surviving manuscript documentation of its acquisition and ownership in the family of Lynford Lardner of Philadelphia, provides evidence about patronage and changing tastes between 1749 and 1760 when the Rococo style first emerged in the city.
