Abstract (en)
Attributes the homiliary MS VI B 2 of the Biblioteca Nazionale, Naples, to a scriptorium in Bari, and dates it 1000-1030; studies the style and iconography of the illuminations, arguing that the manuscript demonstrates the penetration of the school of Benevento into Terra di Bari at the time when a network of monastic communities was established in the region, with ties to the great monasteries along the Tyrrhenian coast. Concludes that the Romanesque style in sculpture and manuscript illumination in Puglia has its roots in the revival of the Latin church.
