Abstract (en)

Discusses the contemporary art scene in Poland since the end of the Cold War, noting that it operates somewhat differently than in western countries since it has a very undeveloped private gallery system. Describes the works of several artists, commenting on the fact that most contemporary art in Poland consists of sculpture or installations; a central trend seems to be the rejection of more traditional media such as painting and prints.
