Abstract (en)

Deals with Prince Eugen, the youngest son of King Oscar and Queen Sophia of Sweden. During his studies at the University of Uppsala in the 1880s, Prince Eugen wanted to become a painter. His father hesitated to permit him to study art in Paris. Looks at the conflict between the prince and his father, and at the conflict between the artist and conservative society.
