The 13 cm high bronze rattle, found in 1930, dates back to the beginning of the 10th c. (Helsinki, Suomen kansallismuseo). It is regarded as a foreign product. The horizontal, convex rings in it resemble the animal ornament found in the wooden objects of Osebergship. According to the writer, the rattle resembles Irish crosiers. The writer suggests it must be some kind of scepter. Although this rattle is unique in the Finnish Iron Age, it has to be compared to silver-covered spearheads decorated with Christian symbols which gave social status to its bearer. The rattle differs from them in construction, appearance and age. It is at least 100 years older than them.
