Abstract (en)
On the attempt to establish in Scotland during the 1740s and 1750s the manufacture of a type of linen called "Osnaburg," a German coarse linen with many uses from clothing to wrapping and backing. The attempt was eventually to succeed, with the product achieving major sales at home and abroad.
