Comments briefly on the relationship between the two architects, presenting a letter, 1915, from van de Velde to Gropius proposing that the latter consider taking over the directorship of the Weimar Kunstgewerbeschule. Notes that some conflict developed between the two during the late 1910s and early 1920s.
