Study based on detailed examination of the embroidered jupon which hung over the Black Prince's tomb for nearly 600 years as part of his achievements. Special attention is given to the cut and construction of the garment, and a conjectured reconstruction of its original appearance is offered. The Black Prince (Edward Plantagenet) is shown wearing the jupon in his Canterbury cathedral effigy.
