Watney discusses a group of porcelain punch bowls made 1770s-1790s by some or all of the Pennington brothers of Liverpool. The hand-painted or transfer-printed ship designs form a consistent group. Roberts, a curator at the National Maritime Museum (London), gives an historical account of the ships and their masters.
