Catalogue published in conjunction with an exhibition of more than 100 objects associated with Weckmann and his sculptural workshop, active in Ulm in the first decades of the 16th c. In addition to entries for all works shown, the catalogue includes numerous essays addressing a variety of topics: conservation of wooden sculptures; the life and career of Weckmann; art in Ulm in the late Middle Ages; carved wooden altarpieces associated with the Weckmann workshop; studies of the artists Hans Schüchlin, Bartholomäus Zeitblom, the Master of the Pfullendorfer Altarpiece, Jörg Stocker, Martinus Schaffner and the Master of the Talheimer Altarpiece wings; and patronage in Ulm ca.1500-1520.
