Abstract (en)

Artists Kathe Burkhart and Chrysanne Stathacos, and curator Anne Pasternak describe their 1991 art project organized to defend women's right to abortion. The work was based on the 1971 French Manifest des 343, which gathered the signatures of a large number of women who had had illegal abortions. The Abortion project similarly publicized the names of women who supported the continued legalization of abortion.
