Abstract (en)

Describes the site-specific piece, located in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, southeast of Santa Fe. The earthwork involves a tunnel staircase that climbs from the bottom of a mesa to the top, with its axis aimed directly at the North Star. Ross aims to complete the work by 1995.
