The charitable foundation "Oeconomia Enchusana" was established in Enkhuisen in 1779 to promote economic growth in the impoverished Dutch town. One of its first efforts was the institution of prizes awarded to cattle farmers who brought the greatest number of animals to the Enkhuisen market. These prizes consisted of brandy bowls and gold and silver medals. The author presents two of the brandy bowls, inscribed with the name of the foundation and the date when the bowls were awarded, 1779 and 1781, and engraved with images of cattle.
