Examines the ideas and intentions of Albert Barnes, who established the Barnes Foundation (Merion) as an educational institution, stipulating that no works of art were to be sold, moved, lent or reproduced, and that no society functions were to be held at the Foundation. Deplores the policies of the present director, Richard Glanton, who has violated all of the founder's provisions, and obtained permission from the courts to send paintings from the collection on a world tour expected to net $$7 million.
