Discusses a Sèvres cup and saucer of 1794 with painted decoration by Louis-Gabriel Chulot of anthropomorphic butterflies (New York, Metropolitan Museum). The designs are taken from a series of etchings by Charles Germain de Saint-Aubin ca.1756.
