Abstract (en)
Concludes, from a close study of the underlying sexism in Greenberg's writings, that "gender plays a crucial part in the broader set of values that govern orthodox modernism, since it constitutes a central nexus for various biased strands of orthodox modernist ethos that Greenberg and others have promulgated and because it engenders within that group a deeply satisfying masculinist sense of power and authority".
