Identifies the Holy Family with SS. Elizabeth and Joseph in the Walters Art Gallery, Baltimore, as the second of two works--an altarpiece of the Adoration of the Magi for S. Agostino, Siena, and a tondo for private devotion--painted by Sodoma for Arduino and Giovanni di Matteo Arduini, the subject of a dispute between the artist and the patrons regarding payment, referred to in a document of 13 Oct 1536 published here (appendix with transcription).
