An account of the teaching of art history at Princeton under Charles Rufus Morey, 1924-45, especially at the graduate level; and recollections of the department in the 1930s; observes that emphasis on factual art history at Princeton began with Marquand and was continued under Morey, who founded the Index of Christian Art in 1917.
