Abstract (en)

Study of the fresco decorations commissioned from Vasari by the Monteolivetan Order for the refectories of their monasteries of S. Michele in Bosco in Bologna (1539-41) and especially S. Anna dei Lombardi in Naples (1544-45). Draws attention to his use of subjects based not on the Crucifixion and the Last Supper but on Old and New Testament prototypes for the Last Supper theme.
