Abstract (en)

Catalogues and describes 151 drawings identified as the work of the Dutch artist, and provides a discussion of his drawing technique, media, style, and signatures, a summary of his usual themes and motifs, and a brief consideration of ter Himpel's activity as a designer of decorations for fayence, concluding that he cannot be shown to have maintained any affiliation with a specific ceramics manufacturer, but most likely worked as a freelance designer.
